2009 Hawks lose to Detroit.
2010 win the cup.
I guess that makes it 2008 technically. Whatever. JJ's wrong and that's whats important. He also just listed his 1990-2000 team and called it 2000-2010. JJ's all kinds of wrong today.
In conclusion, JJ is wrong. |

>Q has a lot more "Phil Jackson" caoching approaches than would appear
>Does a great job developing a private players' environment where players are accountable to each other, support and push each other
>Also love Q's emphasis on playing hockey at the fastest possible pace with emphasis on puck possession -- as a fan it's wonderful to watch your team have the puck most of the time
>What a blast from the past to see Bernie Nicholls on your list -- that cat could really dish and finish --butter-soft hands -- great on the power play -- but not much on the Dside of the biscuit |

More importantly...Where is Brad Winchester going to play? 3rd line, 4th line?...
Or 2nd line center? |

#2 center? You're kidding, right?
Winchester will be a 4th line player, if he's in Chicago. |

Absolutely, just seems like the thing to talk about all the time in here "2nd line center". Winchester is pretty tough isnt he? how is he in the speed department? |

Well deserved. Funny the talk before last season was about Q's job being on the line because of the two first round exits and then the Hawks go and win the Cup. It probably was an overreaction the 2011 team was a shell of the 2010 team and if Sharp buries that shot against Luongo no telling how far they could have gone. The 2012 team ran in to a hot goalie more than anything else. |

While granted that he only played for 2 of those years, how can you possibly omit Doug Wilson????

Say what you will about John McDonough - he's an excellent marketing guy - starting these fan conventions with the Cubs in 1985.
Now, don't go near the ice....
Nice to see so many "old Hawks" at this one. |

Hey Phil,
I'm listening to the Convention intros -- thought you'd like to know Gramps (Larmer for you young-uns) is at the festivities. Along with Darcy Rota (another favorite of mine) and Eric Nesterenko (many many years ago was instrumental in helping yours truly with his slap shot, still credit the guy for it today!) and my favorite Hawk D-man in those early years Bill White (good ol' #2 -- wore #2 for many years because I loved his defense first play, just a real good, solid defenseman). |
